Director of Community Programs

Mahalakshmi (Mahi) Mopal is a senior at Kingsway Regional High School, recognized for her leadership, commitment to wellness, and passion for community engagement. She founded the Community Teen Wellness Program, using The Teen Lifestyle Medicine Handbook to create a curriculum to educate teens on the six pillars of lifestyle medicine. Inspired by her own journey with complex migraines and autonomic dysfunction, she empowers adolescents to improve their health using lifestyle medicine concepts. The program has reached adolescents in multiple counties in New Jersey and internationally, earning her the Youth in Service Award from the New Jersey Governor’s Volunteerism Awards.

Mahi also founded Yoga Beyond Boundaries, a program offering adaptive yoga for individuals of all abilities. She teaches children with special needs at the Gloucester County Library System’s Special Olympics program, young adults with special needs as a guest instructor at Rowan University’s GetFit program, and underserved children at Lifting Up Camden Youth (LUCY Outreach). As a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, she is dedicated to making yoga inclusive and transformative for both mental and physical well-being.

An accomplished singer, Mahi has performed the national anthem at the 2025 New Jersey Wrestling State Championships and with Drop the Mic, an organization supporting mental health. She contributed to Kingsway Regional’s 2024 New Jersey Drama and Forensic League victory and, as a Student Council Executive Board member and Girl Scout Ambassador, leads cultural, community, and service initiatives that create connection and meaningful impact.

Passionate about adolescent health, inclusion, and the power of the arts, Mahi strives to create lasting change. Whether she’s leading wellness programs, performing on stage, or boosting school spirit, she uses her voice and actions to inspire others and uplift her community.
